Process Engineer

ResponsibilitiesLet your career take Flight ! Howmet Aerospace is not seeking to for fill a Process Engineer in it's Winsted, CT location.
JOB SUMMARYThe Process Engineer is responsible for development and implementation of product into the manufacturing operation to meet production requirements and quoted cost.
This includes process/method definition, development, and ownership with major emphasis on operations support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTroubleshoot operations including but not limited to fixturing/clamping issues, program and/or parameter issues and expendable tooling issues until problem is resolved.
Design fixturing using the fixture maintenance program or any other mistake proofing method to increase yields on high scrap operations/programs to support scrap reduction initiatives and reduce human error.
Time study jobs to balance and define operator standard work.
Generate standard work charts and process capacity table and compare actual performance to quoted estimates in current cost models.
Utilize SPC charts and other process capability methods to increase first time yields to within quoted standards.
Perform process planning and development of newly awarded product (NPI), to include tooling procurement, standard routings, bill of materials, etc.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESUse data analysis tools (Power BI) to identify gaps in shop floor performance to standard and make appropriate method improvements to bridge/close gaps.
This to include scrap and rework costs.
Use APQP tool to identify, reduce risks of scrap and escapes.
Assist in cost estimating effort for repeat production jobs as well as for all new product introduction (NPI) requests.
Implement and participate in cost saving initiatives.
Act as technical liaison with customer, suppliers and other Howmet plants in regard to processes, purchase orders, specifications and customer drawings as issues arise.
Research, analysis and cost justification of equipment procurement.
Actively participate in continuous improvement events and initiatives.
Provide technical support to the shop floor personnel.
,QualificationsQUALIFICATIONSBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institutionPreferred QualificationsMinimum of 2 years engineering or operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in a machining, aerospace or industrial gas turbines operationAerospace specification knowledgeAbility to solve problems and identify root cause and corrective action(s).
Proficient in Microsoft Office software and CAD cam programsWorking knowledge of statistical processing analysis toolsTraining and Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma ToolsSubmit a resume today to be considered for this Process Engineer position.
